ES-362: COMPUTERS IN EDUCATION

Time : 3 hours                                                                       Maximum Weightage : 70%

Note : (i) All four questions are compulsory.

(ii) All questions carry equal weightage.

1.Answer the following questions in 600 words :

Describe the use of computers in open learning system and administration.

OR

Explain the criteria for selecting a software for the use in teaching.

2.Answer the following question in about 600 words :

List any four limitations of teachers in comparison to intelligent tutoring system and suggest how can these be overcome ?

OR

Describe the structural task analysis using an example of starting a Computer System.

3. Answer any four of the following in about  150 words each.

(a)Define programmed learning. Also, explain the principles of programmed learning briefly.

(b)Differentiate between forward and backward chaining in designing the computer based Instructions.

(c)"PERT Charts depict task, duration and dependency information among various activities performed during the project". Justify this statement using a suitable example.

(d)Explain the role of MIS in decision support and strategic planning, in context of education system.

(e)Write the advantages and disadvantages of question bank.

(f)What is computer conferencing ? How it can be useful for learners and teachers ?

4. Answer the following in about 600 words :

Select a topic of your choice and discuss how you will teach this topic using CAI in your classroom.
