Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Critically analyze the rationale for distance education in India.

OR

Discuss the role of media in distance education, highlighting the strengths and limitations of print and non-print media.

Answer the following question in about 600 words :

What is meant by 'active learning' ? How to prepare distance learning materials for active learning ?

OR

What is meant by "teaching through tutor comments" ? Describe the different types of teaching and non-teaching comments with examples.

3. Attempt any four of the following question in about 150 words each :

(a)  Explain distance education as defined by Desmond Keegan.
(b)  Explain the meaning of "open education".
(c)  Write a short note on "copy editing".
(d)  What are the advantages of "giading" ?
(e)  Differentiate between "formative" and "summative" evaluation.
(f)   Describe the characteristics of adult distance learners.
