ES-334: EDUCATION AND SOCIETY

1. Answer the following question in about 600 words.

Illustrate with suitable examples the Individual and Social Aims of Education.

OR

Explain important educational functions of Home and Community as agencies of Education.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words.

Define 'Naturalism'. Illustrate its contribution to curriculum planning and assigning role of teacher.

OR

Explain four major areas of aspiration of Indian society from educational system.

3. Write short notes/answers on any four of the following questions in about 150 words each

(a)    How does Media influence the school ?

(b)   Education as an instrument of social change.

(c)    Minority schools - their objectives and functions.

(d)   Education Commission (1964-68) - important recommendations.

(e)    Examination Reforms.

(f)    Inequalities in accessing Educational opportunities - Strategies to reduce them.

4. What is meant by 'wastage and stagnation' ?

After discussion with parents and teachers, you would have felt about various factors which cause wastage and stagnation. On the basis of discussion, prepare a report of various factors

causing, "wastage and stagnation" and suggest remedial measures to overcome wastage and stagnation.
