ES-065 : HIV AND AIDS EDUCATION

Time : 3 hours                                                                       Maximum Weightage : 70%

Note :  (i) All the four questions are compulsory.
(ii) All the questions carry equal weightage.

1.Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Discuss the present status of HIV and AIDS epidemic in India. Explain the various fallacies ascribed to the spread of this disease.

OR

Discuss the stages of HIV/AIDS development with special reference to the NACO's
staging system for patients with HIV/AIDS.

2.Answer the following question in about 600 words :

What are the myths and misconceptions of HIV/ AIDS in general and especially those related to care, treatment and rehabilitation aspects of AIDS control programme in India ?

OR

What are the functions of a teacher in relation of HIV infection leading to AIDS ?

3. Write short notes on any four of the following in about 150 words :

(a)  Identification of the symptoms of AIDS.
(b)  Role of school in the prevention of drug addiction and HIV.
(c)  Moral and ethical issues on HIV.
(d)  Various types of tests used for detecting HIV.
(e)  Palliative care of HIV/AIDS patients.
(f)   School programs for HIV and AIDS prevention.

4. Answer the following question in about  600 words :


In a discussion on 'Principles for Testing of HIV/ AIDS patients' held with students, colleagues and some members of the community, you must have come across to different views advocating voluntary or mandatory testing. How would you, as a teacher reconcile the different view points to evolve general principles that might guide consideration of all testing proposals ?
