1. Answer the following question in about 600 words.
Why is Social Studies an essential subject in school curriculum
at Secondary level ? Discuss the various factors influencing alternative
approach.
OR
Define the concept of Map. Discuss the role of Maps
during teaching Geography.
2. Answer the following question in about 600 words.
Define the concept of Cultural Heritage. Develop an
instructional strategy for teaching this topic to class IX, including teaching
points, specific instructional objectives, activities and evaluation questions.
OR
Explain the concept of 'Totality of Environment'. Develop
an instructional strategy on it including teaching points, specific
instructional objectives, activities and evaluation questions.
3. Write short answers to any five of the
following questions in about 120
words each:
(i)
How
would you explain the factors which affect the distribution of population in
the world to your students?
(ii)
Briefly
mention the causes which are responsible for economic and social inequality in
India. Write some evaluation questions on it.
(iii)
Why
is conservation of natural vegetation needed? Discuss the method you would use
to teach this.
(iv)
Discuss
the meaning and causes of Environmental degradation. Suggest some ways to solve
the problem. Formulate instructional objectives for this content.
(v)
Differentiate
between the terms 'Realia' and 'Diorama'. Discuss their utility in teaching of Social
Studies.
(vi)
State
the main hindrances to national integration in India. What instructional media would
you use to teach this to your students?
(vii)
What
are the main features hat distinguish the modern age from the medieval age ? Describe.
(viii) Mention some alternative method which
helps in maintaining the fertility of soil.
4. Answer the following question in about 600 words.
You were asked by the Principal to organize a field trip
to a historical place. Prepare a report mentioning how you made the field trip
a productive learning activity.
