1. Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Discuss 'pragmatism' and its implications for curriculum formation and professional development of teachers.

OR

Discuss the role of media as an agency of education. Also discuss its important functions and impact on society.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words :

What is meant by Vocationalisation of Education ? Discuss its merits and demerits in the context of secondary education in India.

OR

What were the recommendations of NPE (1986) on Teacher Education ? To what extent have these been effectively implemented ?

3. Write short notes on any four of the following in about 150 words each :

(a) Role of education in national development.
(b) Democratization of education meaning and conditions for its successful attainment.
(c) School as an agent of change.
(d) How does education help in achieving the provision of social justice ?
(e) Social consequences of inequality in school education.
(f) Benefits of grading over numerical marking system.

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
