ES-333 : EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION

Time : 3 hours                                                                       Maximum Weightage : 70%

Note : (i) All the four questions are compulsory.

(ii) All the questions carry equal weightage.

1. Answer the following questions in about 600 words.

What is the role of Evaluation of students inteaching and learning process ? Give reasons for and against.

OR

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of Internal Evaluation from the point of view of good learning by students.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Mention and explain the three general techniques of evaluation. Discuss the relative validity.

OR

Define rating scales and describe their types, uses and limitations.

3. Write short notes on any four of the following in about 150 words each :

(a) Difference between Norm referenced and criterion referenced evaluation.

(b) Guidance to students for selection of the right profession.

(c) Difficulty level of a test item and its calculation.

(d) Suggestions for writing a good essay typequestion.

(e) Difference between percentile and percentile rank and their relative uses.

(f) Use and properties of Normal probability curve.

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Take any topic you have taught recently. Mention the steps you would take to assess the performance of your students on the above topic. How would you interpret the performance ?
