Time : 3 hours                                                               Maximum Weightage : 70%

Note : (i) All four questions are compulsory.
(ii) All questions carry equal weightage.

1. Answer the following question in about 600 words :

Define 'Educational Technology'. Discuss emerging trends of development and expansion of educational technology.

OR

Explain meaning and features of open schooling system. Discuss briefly the delivery mechanism adopted by National Institute of Open Schooling, formerly known as National Open School.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words.

Discuss how telecommunication technologies play a significant role in disseminating and promoting education at a distance.

OR

Explain the need of using instructional media in the teaching-learning process. Discuss, with examples, how you can use non-projected three dimensional visual media effectively in classroom teaching - learning.

3. Answer any five of the following questions in about 120 words each :

(a) What is meant by cybernetics ? State cybernetic principles which have implications for learning.
(b) State the principles of designing software for acquiring knowledge.
(c) Explain user friendliness, control and interactivity of media with examples.
(d) Differentiate between algorithms and heuristics as problem solving strategies.
(e) Mention the functions of management in the context of Educational Technology       (E T).
(f) State problems related to the use of Computer Assisted Learning (CAL).
(g) Differentiate between internet and intranet.
(h) How can a teacher increase effectiveness in chalkboard writing ?

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words.


Identify a topic of your choice from secondary school curriculum for a video program. Develop a program brief and academic note for the same topic.
