compulsory.

1. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Define the concept of social studies. Explain with examples
the relevance of social studies in Secondary school curriculum.
OR
Explain different approaches of organising social studies
curriculum. As a teacher which approach you would prefer and why ? Discuss with
suitable examples.
2. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
'Careful planning is the foundation of an effective instructional
process'. Do you agree with the statement ? Justify your answer with various
steps of planning required in teaching of social studies.
OR
Discuss main sectors of Indian economy and their impact
on the economic development of India.
3. Answer any four of the following questions in about
150 words each :
(a) Discuss the steps of a unit plan.
(b) Differentiate between inductive and deductive
approach to teaching social studies.
(c) Discuss with examples the impact of deforestation on
environment.
(d) Differentiate between Natural Regions and Equatorial
Region.
(e) Discuss the characteristics of a good question paper.
(f) Discuss the use of projected teaching aids in
teaching social studies.
4. Answer the following question in about 600 words
:
Select one topic from your subject area, prepare instructional
objectives and develop a suitable lesson plan. Suggest suitable teaching aids
for teaching the lesson.
