1. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
What do you understand by "discovery method" of
teaching mathematics ? Explain with the help of a concrete example the steps
followed in its use. Discuss its limitations also.

What are the salient features of the Laboratory Method of
teaching mathematics ? Explain with the help of examples. Also, discuss how
will you develop a mathematics laboratory in your school.
2. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Formulate objectives, select learning experiences to
teach any one of the following topics to secondary school students.
(a) Logarithms and their application.

(b) Use of trigonometry in solving problems based on
height and distance.
3. Write short notes on any five of the following in about 120
words each :
(a) Purpose of evaluation
(b) Observation method
(c) Bank Account
(d) Types and sources of data
(e) Use of graph in solving linear equations.
(f) Union and Intersection of sets
(g) Relations and functions
(h) Flow chart
4. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Select a suitable topic from secondary school mathematics
and develop a unit test of one hour
duration consisting of four different types of test items,
measuring objectives of Knowledge, Understanding, Application and Skills.
