2. SECTION-B contains SIX questions carrying TEN marks each and student has to attempt any FOUR questions.

l. Write briefly :
(a) What are various arithmetic instructions? Explain with examples.
(b) What is an instruction cycle?
(c) What is need of clock generator? Explain.
(d) What is DMA? Explain its working.
(e) What is co processor? Explain the working of arithmetic co processor
(f) What is paging? What are its advantages?
(g) What is micro instruction? Explain with example.
(h) What is interrupt cycle? Explain.
(i) What are various types of pins in 8086 microprocessor?
(j) List any three applications of microprocessor.

SECTION-B

2. What is microprocessor? How it is different from microcontroller? Discuss the evolution of microprocessors.

3. What is RISC processor? Explain how it is different from CISC processor.

4. What are addressing modes? Why we have number of addressing modes? Explain the difference between immediate, relative and index addressing modes.

5. Write notes on the following :
     (a) Real and protected memory addressing.
     (b) Branch instructions.
     (c) Memory Paging.

6. Define instruction. What is its format? Explain various data transfer instructions available in 8085 microprocessor with examples.

7. What is interrupt? Explain its types. Draw and explain working of 8257 interrupt controller.
