An engineer should be accurate in
his plans and calculations. He has to build dams, construct
buildings and erect structures. If he
is not exact in his plans, he may cause many avoidable accidents.
He must be above board and resist
any pressures on him. It is only with his integrity that he can command respect of his
officers as well as subordinates. He must build a reputation of being an honest
and sincere person who does not give in despite temptation.
He should be able to manage men,
machines and materials. He should therefore, have practical knowledge of labour psychology,
mechanical operations, and important resources. He can be successful in
an undertaking if he has a good knowledge of management practices.
