2. SECTION-B contains FIVE questions carrying FIVE marks each and students has to attempt any FOUR questions.
3. SECTION-C contains THREE questions carrying TEN marks each and students has to attempt any TWO questions.

1. Answer briefly
a) How automobiles are classified?
b) What is the difference between saloon and hatchback car?
c) What is the conventional type construction of bus body?
(1) What is meant by collapsible steering?
e) What are the functions of seatbelts?
f) What is the need of special purpose vehicle?
g) Define vehicle drag.
h) What do you understand by displays in vehicle?
i) What is the purpose of wind tunnel testing?
j) How is the car structure classified?




SECTION-B
2. Differentiate between conventional and integral type construction of bus body.
3. What are the methods of improving space in cars? Discuss.
4. What are symmetric and asymmetric vertical loads in car? Discuss.
5. Explain the working of air bags as safety equipment for car.
6. Write a brief note on flow visualization techniques.



SECTION-C
7. Explain the effect of noise, vibration and heat on human body and how these can be controlled. Discuss.
8. Write a note on anti-jamming door locks.

9. Explain various body optimization techniques for minimum drag in the vehicle.
