Attempt any three of the following
a.
Find the moment in inertia of the section shown
in figure 1 about x and t axes.
b.
The intensity of loading on a simply supported
beam of 5 m span increases uniformly from 8 at one end to 16 Kn/m at the other
end.
Find the position and magnitude of the max B.M. also draw SFD and BMD.
c.
A water / main of 1.20 m internal diameter and
12 mm thick is running full. If the bending stress is not to exceed 56 N/mm2.
Find the greatest span on which pipe may be freely supported. Steel and water
weigh 76.80 Kn/m3 and 10 Kn/m3 respectively.
