Public Administration
Paper: Administrative Theory
Time Allowed: Three Hours] [Maximum Marks: 90
Note:- (1) The paper will be of 90 marks and 10 marks will be internal assessment.
(2) There are nine questions in all. The first question is compulsory containing twelve short answer type questions. The candidate is required to attempt nine questions in about 25 to 30 words. Each question shall be of 2 marks. Rest of the paper is divided into four units; each unit has two questions and the candidate shall attempt one question from each unit. Each question shall carry 18 marks.

(iii) Differences between Public Administration and Private Administration as given by Simon.
(iv) What is Applied Administration? (v) Write four lines on relationship of Public Administration to Political Science.
(vi) Define Formal Organization.
(vii) What is Hierarchy?
(viii)Give two differences between a Department and Public Corporation.
(ix) Write two methods of Communication.
(x) Give two features of Line agency.
(xi) Define Decision Making
(xii) Give two styles of Leadership.

2. Discuss the meaning, nature and scope of Public Administration.
3.Describe the status of Public Administration as an Art, Science and Social Science.
UNIT-II
4. Define Organization. Discuss the features, merits and demerits of Formal and Informal Organization.
5. Define a Department. Discuss the merits and demerits of a Department.
UNIT-III
6. Discuss the various types and functions of a Chief Executive.
7. Define Centralization. Discuss the features and merits of Centralization
UNIT-IV
8. Define Coordination. Discuss the types, methods and hindrances of Coordination
9. Define Leadership. Discuss the styles and functions of Leadership.
