1. (a) What is Project Life Cycle? Explain its significance and stages. 

(b) Define Feasibility Study and discuss various steps in the feasibility study of a project.

2. (a) What is Project Financing? Explain the sources of finances in case of Project Financing. 

(b) What is Project Profitability? What are the various methods for evaluating project profitability?

(a) What is the role of the Computer for project planning, scheduling, and monitoring? Explain. 

(b) What do you understand by Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)? In what ways may WBS be used as a key document to monitor and control a project? Explain.

4. (a) Discuss different types of cost in a project. Analyse the important cost control techniques. What are the pitfalls in the traditional method of cost accounting and expenditure control in projects? 

(b) Justify the statement with detail: "The greatest threat to the success of any project, especially IT projects, is a failure to communicate."

5. (a) What is Software Requirement Specification (SRS)? Why is it required? Explain in detail about the attributes of SRS document. 

(b) What is the purpose of a DFD? Give the rules of designing a DFD. Design a DFD for a Student Information Management System.

6. (a) What is Data dictionary? Explain the kinds of data available in data dictionary.

(b) What is a System? Examine the different stages/cycles in system development.

7. Give structure/style of a project report. Explain the steps in project report preparation. What are the contents of an ideal project report and explain the need for designing the illustrative report?

8. What is the difference between licensed software and open-source software? Compare and contrast the features of project management software from licensed category and open source category.
