Note: - (1) Attempt all the questions.

(2) the First question carries 20 marks.

(3) All the other questions carry 15 marks each. 


1. Write short notes (not more than 200 words each) on three of the following: 

(a) Counter history 

(b) Cultural Materialism

(c) Grand Narrative 

(d) Essentialism 

(e) Discourse

(f) Orientalism.



II. Discuss the role of anecdotes in the re-writing of history. In what ways do anecdotes promise to bring the touch of the real?
