(i) Attempt five questions in all including Question No. 1 which is compulsory. 

(ii) For the remaining part attempt four questions selecting one from each Unit. Each essay-type question carries 15 marks.

(vii) What was Rakhi system under the Sikhs?

(viii) Define Gurmatta.

(ix) When and where was Dal Khalsa founded?

(x) Write a note on the administration of Tappa. 

(xi) Discuss functions of a Kardar. (xii) Write a note on Kankut.

(xii) Discuss the grants given to the Vaishnav centres.

(xiv) Define the term 'Katra'.

(xv) Name any four urban centres situated in the Upper-Bari Doab.

UNIT-I

II. Give an account of the measures of the Mughal State against Banda Singh Bahadur and his Sikhs.

III. Describe the invasions of Ahmad Shah Abdali on the Punjab. Why did he fail to curtail the power of the Sikhs?
